Dublin, Ireland 30 January 2024 – Advancing Women in Aviation Roundtable (AWAR) has selected Margaret Clandillon, as the winner of its 2024 Trailblazer Award. Margaret was presented with the award during AWAR’s Annual Leaders Luncheon today in Dublin.

The Trailblazer Award is presented to individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of women in aviation, or who have personally broken the “glass ceilings” within their respective organizations.

Emily Wicker, President of AWAR, said, “I cannot think of anyone who better represents the qualities of a trailblazer. We are proud to present Margaret Clandillon with our highest recognition, the AWAR Trailblazer Award. Her work to advance women in aviation is exemplary and provides a roadmap for others to follow. She is truly deserving of this award and an inspiration to so many.”

Upon receiving the award, Margaret Clandillon commented, “Embracing gender diversity is not only a socially responsible choice but also a smart strategic business decision.  AWAR deserves huge commendation for all its praiseworthy initiatives in advancing women in the Aviation Industry, and I am honored to have received their Trailblazer Award”

Ms Clandillon was one of the first-ever female executives to work in the aircraft leasing industry and has been at the forefront of aviation. With a career spanning over 35 years as an executive, business founder, and a highly experienced board director of both private and public companies she has a deep knowledge of all aspects of aviation leasing, sales, finance, ABS, marketing, and legal risks.

Working both in Ireland and the US, she held multiple senior management roles in finance and became General Counsel. She then co-founded Pembroke Capital Limited. Its portfolio had grown to over 125 owned and managed aircraft, when she sold her shareholding.

Her current roles include: the Chair of the recently launched aircraft leasing and finance company High Ridge Aviation; the Chair of Navigator Aviation and Gilead companies backed by PIMCO’s investor resources; and the Chair of Altitude Investor companies supported by KKR’s investor base. Margaret also holds several directorships on ABS issues.
